A Body-Centered, Relational Approach to Psychotherapy

If you could talk your way through this, you would have by now

Because words are not enough.

Your body has been carrying more than you realize. Old wounds linger beneath the surface, shaping how you feel, relate, and move through the world. Talking helps, but it doesn’t always reach the places that learned how to survive. Somatic therapy gently helps your body feel safe again. Safety isn’t just a concept, it’s a felt experience. And from that experience, real healing can begin.

About

Evelyn Karpel, LMHC-D

I help people uncover and heal the unconscious patterns shaped by difficult relationships, trauma, and loss. These are the experiences that often show up later as depression, anxiety, disconnection, or uncertainty.

In our sessions, we’ll explore the connection between mind and body to access the deeper layers of your emotional and lived experience. Using somatics, symbolism, imagination, and meditation, we’ll bring awareness to the patterns that hold you back and reconnect you with the parts of yourself that need care.

Who I see

I offer individual therapy for adults 18+. I provide family therapy to teens and their parents as they navigate the transition to young adulthood.  I see clients in person in Ballston Lake, NY, and virtually across New York State

I see people who have reached a plateau in talk therapy, or have come a long way and want to go deeper. You may be going through something right now, or carrying something from the past that you're ready to release.

I specialize in helping teens and their parents navigate the challenges of adolescence. I help teens feel seen and understood, and assist parents in finding ways of staying connected to their kids as they learn to find their own way.
